"Gray is the acoustic debut of what I call folk-rock-surf & turf. Essentially it speaks my need to avoid black and white in observing everyday life. The logo of the plumeria, an overplayed card in the taming of Hawaii coupled with a proverb 'hu hewa i kapua kaauwaa panana ole' which essentially means an unguided fleet makes mistakes in navigation: that there is a lack of depth perception in so much of what we see every day."

Singer/Songwriter Christopher Kawika Brown is an acoustic guitarist influenced by American folk, world rock and Polynesian philosophy. Having played Hawaiian music with cultural practitioners abroad and traversing locales as varied as a mansion in the Caribbean, a Korean sky rise and a Wyoming storage container, his music reflects the transient and balcony observations of life as he knows it in lyric-driven narrative.
