Christopher remembers dropping a rock on his fathers big toe when he was young and spending the rest of his childhood trying to make amends with foot Lomi. It is a trait engrained in his lineage and a calling pursued in earnest since experiencing the work of Päpä Kaluaokalanipaea Kaiahua.

In August of 2004 he enrolled at Hawai‘i Healing Arts College in Kailua. A Lomilomi class was offered outside the curriculum. The 3-day course taught by Kumu Karen Leialoha Carrol (Päpä Kaluaokalanipaea Kaiahua) was an eye opening experience, exposing him to a glimpse of not only Hawaiian healing, but of an entire lifestyle to be embraced.

After graduation in July of 2005 he opened his own private practice as part of the Unity Healing Arts Center at Unity Church on Diamond Head Circle. For the past two years he has continued seeing clients at Unity while working in spas on Lana‘i and Waikiki.

A major influence on his technique comes from the training of Kumu Alva Andrews of Waimanalo(John Kalua, Abbie Napeahi and John Pia).

Chris has shared his techniques in workshops with the intent of passing on skills to individuals and groups which enable them to maintain their own health. He believes that when there is harmony in life, it begins with the health of the body. He has imparted this belief and the techniques of his kumu to travelling groups, local charter schools, and though cultural exchange workshops abroad. His approach is decidedly hands on and group oriented.

Chris is a member of Hui Mauli Ola, a group of Hawaiian healing practitioners with the goal of revitalizing traditional practices in Hawai‘i and throughout the South Pacific. They have recently returned from a cultural exchange in Aotearoa (New Zealand).
